What is yoga?
Everyone's Yoga
You don't have to be flexible or strong to practice yoga. This is a platform for you to connect within, tap into the deeper teaching of yoga, and give yourself the deepest love you know you deserve.
What is Everyone's Yoga about?
And who is Susan Hu?
Susan is an E-RYT® 500, YACEP®, and founder of Bhakti Center Yoga, an RYS® 500 based in NYC. Born and raised in Shanghai, Susan is a gypsy at heart and has always been searching for the deeper meaning and purpose of life beyond the body and the mind. Having danced ballet from the age of four, modeled since age 12, she loves to express her emotions through the movement of the physical body. At age 20, she won the title of Miss Shanghai and worked in the public spotlight for two years. With two master's degrees in Media and Journalism and over a decade of professional experience as a director of marketing and communications in NYC, she listened to her inner calling to share the teaching of yoga and devotes her life a yoga and meditation teacher. Susan believes when you take the time to care for yourself with genuine self-love and live an aligned life, you have the power to heal yourself and the world around you.
She is inspired to serve, to tell stories and to make the teaching of self-care and sustainable living available to everyone. Susan created #everyonesyoga as a platform to share yoga with anyone, regardless of age, shape, gender, nationality, social status, or any other label that society puts on us.
Susan has collaborated with organizations including Animal Connection, Earth Matter NY, Community Yoga (Shanghai), In Defense of Animals, Compassion Arts, Project by Project, among others to make the teaching of yoga accessible. She has also a led yoga and meditation class at 22nd Solstice in Times Square, demoed yoga at the United Nations and hosted the UN 6th International Day of Yoga Celebration. She has led and assisted over 30 yoga and meditation teacher trainings. Susan has been initiated into the Brahma Madhava Gaudiya Sampradaya as a disciple of HH Radhanath Swami with her initiated name as Brinda Kumari Devi Dasi.
With over 2,000 training hours, Susan’s teaching style is very nourishing, grounding and uplifting with a focus on breathing and the relationship with Self. As a senior lead teacher at the Bhakti Center, she offers different styles of yoga classes, workshops, and trainings both one on one and in group settings. Her style includes Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Prana Nidra, Pranayama, Prana Vidya Healing, Chakra Meditation and other yoga and meditation techniques. WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly someone who genuinely enjoys teaching yoga and holding space for her students.
Loved the little nuggets of spiritual wisdom she shares in her classes, which makes the experience so much richer and deeper. And the use of scented oil near the end of class -- so relaxing!! 10/10 would recommend.
I am very new to the practice of yoga and Susan made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I was quite nervous going into it but she walked me through everything, was patient and has truly made me fall in love with the practice.
So grateful I found Susan!
Susan is deeply knowledgeable. I have been taking her classes for over 4 years and she is an amazing and inspiring teacher. She has so much to offer, from classical, powerful vinyasa classes to yoga nidra, where she guides you into a deep state of rest. She is very supportive and picks up where you are and on top of that, she is a generous person with a great sense of humor.
Melody S.
I have been practicing for many years and feel so blessed to receive Susan's one-on-one teaching. Her style brings joy and equanimity to balance the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga. She is very generous in sharing her deep wisdom and understanding of the history, root and heart of yoga and meditation. She is a bright and brilliant presence and a wonderful teacher.
